Welcome to DCGC Ladies’ Section

We are a relatively small group of Ladies, with handicaps ranging from single figures through to “new to golf members”, whose handicaps can be up to 54. We are very happy to welcome new members of all abilities.

We are proud to say we are an R&A Women In Golf signatory. This means we are actively doing all we can to promote women to take up the game of golf and get involved with club activities and hold board positions. Please see the link below to our charter agreement which is a list of tasks the club will achieve each year to promote the participation of ladies in golf at the club.

Our Ladies’ day is Thursday with the first tee reserved from 09:20 - 11:00 each week.

If you want competitive games, there are weekly individual and team competitions played on a Thursday morning or alternatively on Sunday morning if you aren't free to play during the week. Also a majority of the club competitions on Saturdays are open to all. However, if you are looking for Social Golf, we have “roll ups” on a Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. In these sessions you will soon get to know and play with existing members in a less formal situation and possibly enjoy a sandwich and a cuppa with them afterwards.  

If representative match play is what you’re after, we currently run two teams playing in Devon County Competitions. The Sheelah Creasy team is for those with handicaps ranging between 23.5 and 40.4, and the President’s team for those with handicaps up to 23.4. 

Looking for a more social and relaxed format? We also play Mixed Friendlies against other local Clubs. These matches give you the opportunity to play social, yet competitive golf, finishing off with a good meal and a drink with new golfing friends at a variety of courses around the county.

Of course, if you just want to practise and play with friends, rounds can booked at any time when the course is available.
