Eclectic

This is an annual competition for all seniors who play in any one or more of the six constituent cup/trophy events which are the Jack Painting, Seniors Championship R1, the Alan Ruddock Salver, The Captains Cup, The Grandads Trophy, The David Moss Vase. The winner is determined by the best gross score by the player on each of the 18 holes minus half of the competitors handicap immediately after the final event.

Summer & Winter Knockout draws both Pairs and Singles.

In addition there is a Plate competition for first round losers in the Summer singles. 

Seniors Summer Penthathlon

The SENIOR’S SUMMER PENTATHLON is a self-selected three man team competition played over five events during the summer starting in April and finishing in October. It will be organised by a member of the Seniors’ Committee. There are specific local rules and procedures that appertain to the competition in the form of the ‘Rules of Engagement’ including the ‘Captain’s Brief’.

Round 1 – Medal (two to count) from March – May………. 7 weeks to play round.
Round 2 – Stableford 1, 2, 3 from May – June……………… . 7 weeks to play round.
Round 3 – Medalford (two to count) from June – July  … 7 weeks to play round.
Round 4 - Stableford (two to count) from July – Sept.......8 weeks to play round.
Round 5 – Texas Scramble from August – October…… ….7 weeks to play round.

      Rules of Engagement     

DEVON V ROW 

Devonians v The Rest of the World – is an annual competition between seniors born in Devon and a team born outside the county.  The match is advertised on the notice board inviting entries.  The match is followed by a dinner for all players when results are announced.
 A captain is nominated for each side who organise the day’s proceedings.  The competition is played in four-ball better ball match play format with prizes for nearest the pin on the 15th and nearest the pin in two on the ninth.




INTERNATIONAL RUGBY DRAWS

Throughout the year Draws are arranged for all international Rugby Union Competitions:                                  Series/Tours & the World Cup.





GreenKeepers Revenge - The pre-season dinner after the Greenkeepers have taken their revenge during a 3 man Team, shot gun start, Texas Scramble. 

Wednesday Wizards
 Is an individual and team competition played as a stableford from the yellow tees.  There is a nearest the pin competition on the 15th green and a nearest the pin in two on the 9th green.  There may be other mystery prizes within the main competition.  
 The draw for teams is structured so the handicaps for each team are as even as possible. Dinner follows the competition after which the results of the competition, presentation of the trophy and prizes takes place.

 Lin Ashman Trophy - is an annual event which takes place in September of each year between the Seniors and the Ladies section for the Lin Ashman Trophy.  The match is advertised on the notice board by the Captain inviting seniors to play.


  Senior’s Captain Awayday – 

 The Senior’s Awayday is arranged and organised by the incoming captain at a course of his choice and notified in the Club diary.  A list is displayed on the notice board for all wishing to attend with all costs being deducted from the individual’s bar card.  The day comprises a three man team and two individual competitions.
